Biography

Tommy Angell attended U Cal Berkeley, graduating in 1946, where she played hockey (field) and several other sports. In field hockey she was a member of the 1965 US touring team and a member of the Pacific Southwest selection team from 1953 to 1970. She would later serve as an official in both field hockey and fencing.

Angell then attended the University of Michigan, earning a law degree in 1950. She became a lawyer in California, working mostly in estate planning and trusts, for over 60 years, with her own firm of Angell Brunner & Angell. Angell represented the Pannonia Athletic Club and won Amateur Fencers League of America (AFLA) team foil titles with Pannonia in 1964 and 1966. She also won team foil gold medals at the 1963 and 1971 Pan American Games. Angell was inducted into the U Cal Berkeley Sports Hall of Fame in 1980.
