Biography

Hans Lagerwall represented Göteborgs FK and was one of Sweden’s greatest fencers. Lagerwall began competing in youth competitions before winning his first senior title when he was 16. Fencing for Göteborgs FK, Lagerwall, along with Göran Abrahamsson, Dicki Sörensen, Bo Jonsson and Bengt Olof Holmberg, won the 1962 European Cup. Lagerwall competed for Sweden at the 1960 Roma Olympics and the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. In 1960 the Swedish team finished in fifth place in the épée event, with them going to finish one place higher in 1964.
