Biography

Viktor Zvyagintsev played for FC Shakhtar, Donetsk from his youth, and started his professional career in Donetsk, but twice returned to his original club. At the 1976 Montréal Olympics, he took part in the last three matches against Iran, the GDR, and Brazil, and scored one goal in the game against Iran, his only goal during his career with the USSR national team. Zvyagintsev was twice a silver medalist at the USSR championship (1975, 1979). After completing his playing career, he became a football referee, and later was the director of a sports school in Donetsk. He also became president of the Donetsk City Football Federation.
