Biography

Jimmy Douglas was a goalkeeper who played in the American Soccer League (ASL) from 1922-31, with various teams. Douglas started with Harrison FC in 1922, then played for the Newark Skeeters for two years before joining the Fall River Marksmen, Philadelphia Field Club, Brooklyn Wanderers, New York Nationals, New York Giants, and then ending his career with the New York Americans. Douglas earned nine caps with the US national team, starting with the 1924 Olympics, and continuing through 1930, when he played in the first World Cup. Douglas was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1953.
