Biography

Marko Elsner was a football defender who played 14 games for the Yugoslav national team between 1984-88. After the break-up of Yugoslavia, Elsner débuted for the Slovenian national team in November 1992 and earned two caps for Slovenia.

Elsner started his senior career in 1977 with Olimpija but he is best known for his time with Red Star Beograd (1983-87), winning the Yugoslav First League in 1983/84 and the Yugoslav Cup in 1985 with them. He later played in France with Ligue 1 team OGC Nice from 1987-90 and 1990-93 and played one year with the Austrian side Admira Wacker (1990/91).
