Biography

As much of his career overlapped with that of Wille Grut, Sune Wehlin won only one Swedish national title in the modern pentathlon, doing so in 1951. He did, however, attend the 1948 London Olympic tournament – an event won by Grut – where he placed 17th. At the time of his Olympic participation, he was a Lieutenant in the Swedish Army, but he later became a physiologist and worked at the Royal Central Institute of Gymnastics (now the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences) as a specialist in athletic activity. He was also involved in the administration of his sport.
