Biography

Charley Manring started out at Rutgers but received a commission to the Naval Academy and left the New Jersey school after one year. Manring was the coxswain on the Annapolis shell that won the Olympics and the IRA Regatta and the stern Sprints in 1952. He later became a career naval officer.
