Biography

Trap shooter Joachim Marscheider placed eighth at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. In 1962 he won a bronze medal at the World Championships in the individual trap event and a silver with the East German trap team. In 1963, the team also took bronze at the European Championships. Marscheider also won four East German titles in 1956, 1962-63, and 1965. He later became head coach of East German’s trap shooters. His son Peter also became a successful international trap shooter.
