Biography

Brigitte Fetzer was on the 1980 East German women’s volleyball team at the Moskva Olympics. The team won the silver medal, losing twice against the Soviet Union, in the preliminary round and the final, both times by 3-1 in set scores. In 1979, she was on the team that won another silver medal at the European Championships. Nationally, she played with SC Leipzig.

Fetzer was employed by the Deutsche Reichsbahn until re-unification. She later worked with the Stadtwerke Leipzig as a coordinator for tube construction.
