Biography

Jennifer Gillom won a basketball gold medal with the US team at the 1987 Pan American Games and at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Gillom played in college at the University of Mississippi. She played in the WNBA with the Phoenix Mercury from 1997-2002, and then played one final year with the Los Angeles Sparks. She was All-WNBA in 1998 and in the 2002/03 season, Gillom won the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award.

Gillom later became a coach, starting in 2006 as a high school coach in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2008 she became an assistant with the Minnesota Lynx, and in 2009 she moved up to head coach of the team. She later was an assistant with the Connecticut Sun. Gillom was an assistant coach for the US National team at the 2010 World Championships and the 2012 Olympics, both times helping them win gold medals. In 2009 she was elected to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
