Biography

Arvid Andersson, known as “Strong Arvid,” was world weightlifting champion in 1946 in the featherweight class, with a total of 320 kg. Andersson placed third in the lightweight class at the 1949 World Championships, but he was also European Champion in 1947 (featherweight) and 1949 (lightweight). Andersson worked as a firefighter.
