Biography

Rick Holbrook was known for his technique and speed in lifting, performing better in the quick lifts than the press. He competed at the 1970 and 1971 World Championships, placing seventh in 1971, but earning a bronze in the clean & jerk section of the middle-heavyweight class. Holbrook was AAU champion in 1971 and 1972, and was named the Best Lifter at the 1972 AAUs. He also won a silver medal in 1971 at the Pan American Games.

Personal Bests: Total – 512.5 (1972); Press – 162.5 (1972); Snatch – 155.0 (1972); Clean & Jerk – 197.5 (1972).
