Biography

Argentine wrestler León Genuth was a national middleweight champion from 1948 to 1957. Genuth replicated his national success at international tournaments, winning gold in the freestyle middleweight at the Maccabiah Games in 1950 and 1953, and gold at the Pan American Games in 1951 and 1956. He competed in the same weight class at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics where he finished in joint-sixth place after two wins and a loss. Two years later Genuth became a world champion in Japan. After his retirement he worked as a coach at a club in Buenos Aires.
