Biography

The 1920 Olympic Games were Matti Perttilä’s only major international tournament. Domestically, Perttilä never won a Finnish title, winning two middleweight silver medals in 1920 and 1921 at the Finnish Championships. In 1923 Perttilä emigrated to Canada to try his hand in farming, but returned to Finland before World War II.
