Biography

Wolf Stadler and Heinz Laprell sailed with the West German Tempest boat (a two-person keelboat) at the 1972 München Olympics. The events were held in Kiel and the boat placed 11th. Both sailed with Yachtclub am Tegernsee and had won the Kieler Woche some weeks earlier. Four years later, at the 1976 Montréal Summer Games at Kingston, Ontario, Stadler finished an unfortunate fourth, this time with Uwe Mares. In 1979, Stadler won the World Championship with non-Olympian Rolf Bähr. Stadler later became a lawyer.
