Biography

Tom Ottey won the AAU 6-miles in 1932 and 1935. The 1932 AAU Meet doubled as the Olympic Trials, which qualified him for the Olympic team. He competed for Michigan State and the Meadowbrook Club. Ottey placed second at the 1935 NCAA Meet in the 2-mile.

Personal Bests: 2 miles – 9:19.0 (1935); 5000 – 15:22.4 (1935); 10000 – 31:37.8 (1932).
