Biography

Nancy Burley competed in two international championships, both in 1952. She placed 15th at the World Championships, and did one place better at the Olympics. Retiring afterwards, she toured with Holiday on Ice in Europe. Her husband, Pat Burley, managed the Burley Ice Rinks corporation, which owned and managed many of Australia’s rinks, both permanent and temporary, from the 1960s through the 1980s. The couple had two daughters who also became figure skaters: Sharon and Robyn. Sharon competed in the 1976 Olympics and in five world championships, while Robyn participated in two world championships and won the professional world title.
