Biography

At the age of 17, Bjarne Arentz won the 1946 Norwegian Championships in slalom and alpine combination. His third and last national title came in 1950 when he won the downhill. He also competed in the World Alpine Championships in Aspen, Colorado in 1950. Arentz was born in the Holmenkollen area in Oslo, and studied engineering in Germany. He won several German student championships titles both in Nordic and Alpine skiing in 1953 and 1955. In Norway Arentz also competed in sailing and athletics.
