Biography

Left winger Gian Bazzi skated for Switzerland at the 1952 Winter Olympics. He also competed at the World Championships in 1951, 1953, and 1962, winning bronze medals in 1951 and 1953. Bazzi was also on the Swiss team that played in the B Worlds in 1961. He earned 63 international caps for Switzerland.

Bazzi started his club career in 1949 with SC Bern, but moved to Neuchâtel Young Sprinters HC in 1954, playing with them to the end of his career in 1963. He won three Cup titles with Neuchâtel Young Sprinters and led the Swiss league in goal scoring in 1961. After he stopped playing Bazzi became a hockey coach.
