Biography

Torrey Folk was a rower who competed in the eight at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She also rowed the eight at the 1999 World Championships, winning a silver medal, and was sixth in that boat at the 1997 Worlds. Folk competed at the 1998 Henley Royal Regatta, winning gold in the Invitational Eight.

Folk ran track and cross-country in high school but started to row in college. She first attended Rice University but transferred to the University of Wisconsin after two years so she could row at the D-1 level. She later earned a PhD from the University of Nevada at Reno in education in 2017. Folk has worked as a teacher and curriculum coordinator and in 2022 became a partner at TNTP, a public education company that trains and recruits teachers.
