Biography

Biathlete Martina Zellner was a member of the German gold medal-winning relay team at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. Individually, she finished tenth over 15 km, and 30th in the sprint event. At World Championships, Zellner won two gold, one silver and three bronze medals. Three of them were in individual races. She won bronze in the 10 km pursuit in 1998, gold in the 7.5 km sprint in 1999, and another bronze in the sprint event in 2000. Zellner also won one gold and two bronze medals at European Championships.

Zellner was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. Later, she occasionally worked as a co-commentator with German TV channels Eurosport and ARD.
