Biography

JJ Thomas was first noticed in the snowboarding world when he placed on the podium at the Vans 2001 Triple Crown at Breckinridge. At the 2002 Winter X Games, he won the superpipe, which earned him a spot on the 2002 Winter Olympic team, where he won a bronze medal in halfpipe. Although he continued to compete after 2002, and tried to make the 2006 US Winter Olympic team, he has focused his efforts on a film career, working with Stanford film crews. At the 2003 Winter X superpipe, Thomas landed a 1080, without having attempted it before, but finished in a controversial sixth place.
