Biography

Brenda Petzold was an aerialist who competed in freestyle skiing at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. She was a bronze medalist in the event at the 2000 Goodwill Games and had one third-place finish in World Cup events.

Petzold’s career was hampered by several knee injuries, but she won NorAm titles in 1995 and 1998. She began skiing at age two at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire. Petzold attended Union College in upstate New York. Her sister, Sharon Petzold, placed second in freestyle skiing ballet when it was a demonstration sport at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics.
