German javelin thrower Christian Nicolay participated at the 2004 Athens Olympics. He finished 16th in the qualification round with 79,77 metres and failed the reach final. He won his only German national titles in 2005 and 2006. Nicolay later worked with an insurance company and became an athletics coach.
