Biography

James O’Rourke competed at the 1936 Berlin Olympics in the folding kayak doubles event, the only time it was on the Olympic Program. O’Rourke was a Yonkers, New York native and competed for the Yonkers Canoe Club. He worked as an engineer at the Yonkers Raceway for over 30 years. O’Rourke was a member of the Operating Engineers’ Local #137.
