Biography

Staci Wilson played in college at the University of North Carolina. The dominant team in college soccer, Wilson helped the Tar Heels win the NCAA title all four years at the school. In 1994 she was the National Freshman Player of the Year. The Tar Heels eventually retired her #27 jersey.

Wilson played for the US at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. She later became a coach, starting out in youth soccer in Florida. She was head coach of the Loudoun Youth Soccer Association’s U-12 and U-13 teams from 2004-06, and then directed soccer training at the Perfect Competition Athletic Development in Davie, Florida from 2006-07. She also coached various youth teams at the Weston Fury Soccer Club in Weston from 2006-08, and then spent 2009-10 as an assistant with the Philadelphia Independence of the Women’s Professional Soccer League. Wilson was strength, speed and agility coach at Howard University in 2010-11 and then was named an assistant coach at Florida Atlantic University.
