German table tennis player Katja Nolten partnered Olga Nemes in the women’s doubles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Both failed to reach the quarter-finals. In the singles, Nolten was eliminated in the group stage.
In 1987 Nolten won her only national title, in the mixed doubles with Steffen Fetzner. She also won national team titles with Duisburger SC Kaiserberg in 1988, and with SpVg Steinhagen from 1990-92. Her brother Hans-Joachim also was a table tennis international. Katja later became a sports teacher.
