Dominique Damiani

French sportswoman Dominique Damiani competed at the Olympics in cycling before becoming a two-time national champion in triathlon. During the 1980s Damiani finished third on three occasions in the road race at the national championships and rode in multiple editions of the Tour de France féminin, winning a stage of the race in 1985. In 1984 she also competed in the road race at the Los Angeles Olympics, finishing 14th in a bunch of riders who were only two minutes behind the winner.

By the end of the decade Damiani switched her focus to the triathlon, competing in her first World event in 1989. She became the French long-distance champion in both 1990 and 1992, also winning back-to-back golds at the Embrunman triathlon in 1990 and 1991, as well as bronze in 1992.
