Biography

Cyclist Thomas Freienstein was a member of the West German 100 km time trial team at the 1984 Los Angeles that finished a disappointing 12th. In the individual road race, he finished 22nd. In 1981, Freienstein won the “Around Frankfurt” road race, and in 1984 and 1985 won the “Around Düren” race. Freienstein won the Hessen Tour in 1982 and 1984, and in the latter year was the German national road race champion. He later became a mountain bike coach with the German Cycling Federation.
