Biography

German cyclist Eyk Pokorny finished seventh at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the track sprint. His greatest moment was in 1991 when he won the tandem World Championships with non-Olympian Emanuel Raasch. In the team sprint he added one silver (1997) and three bronze medals (1993, 1998-99.

At the European Championships, Pokorny won gold medals in the omnium in 1995 and 1997. Domestically, he won six national titles. Since 2005, Pokorny was Regional chief coach at the Regional Olympic Center at Cottbus and Frankfurt on Oder.
