Biography

Rogelio Salcedo was Chilean road champion in 1947 and 1951. He also rode on a South American team road champion for Chile. In addition to his 1948 Olympic appearance, he attempted to qualify for the 1952 Chilean Olympic road team, but without success, placing second in the trials, but he was not chosen for the team. The reasons are not clear for he had ridden well in 1952, placing fourth at the Santiago-Concepcion-Rancagua-Talcai-Chillán stage race in March, and in April, he won a stage in the Three Days of Curico, placing second overall.
