Eigil Sørensen

Danish cyclist Eigil Sørensen finished second in the team time trial at the national championships in both 1967 and 1968 before winning the title in 1969. Sørensen continued to be consistent in the event, winning four more titles during his career (1971, 1974, 1976–77). In 1972 he was selected to ride in the road race at the München Olympics, but he did not finish the course. In addition to riding in road races in Denmark throughout the 1970s, he also rode in multiple editions of the Milk Race in England, recording multiple top-10 stage finishes.

Sørensen also competed in cyclo-cross races, becoming the Danish champion in the discipline in 1972. Prior to his national title he rode at the World Cyclo-Cross Championships in both 1969 and 1970.
