Biography

Educated at Yale and the Harvard Business School, Fred Roe went into investment banking. He was a founder and senior partner of the investment counselors Stein, Roe, & Farnham. The company was founded in 1932 in Chicago, Illinois and survived into the 21st Century. In 2003 it was merged into BofA Advisors, an affiliate company of Bank of America.

Errata

First name is not Frederick. Some family trees give middle name as Lee, but this is not supported by official documents, where his middle name field is either striked out or contains entry (none). His son's name was given as Fred Lee Roe, Jr., though, by official documents.
