Biography

German field hockey player Vanessa van Kooperen competed in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, when Germany placed a disappointing sixth. In total, she played 64 international matches from 1989-97. In 1995, she won the bronze medal at the European Championships, and a bronze medal at the previous year’s Worlds.

At club level, van Kooperen played with RHTC Leverkusen, helping them win the German national title in 1990, Larensche MHC in the Netherlands, and Klipper HTC Uhlenhorst Hamburg. By profession, she became a management consultant.
