Biography

Patrick Bellenbaum was a German field hockey player who participated in the 1996 Olympics at Atlanta. Germany finished fourth after losing 3-2 to Australia in the bronze medal match, despite leading 2- 1 with less than ten minutes to go. In 1995, he won the European Championships and the Champions Trophy, and in 1998, collected a bronze medal at the Worlds.

In total, Bellenbaum won 135 international caps between 1992-99. Domestically, he played with HTC Uhlenhorst Mülheim and helped them win the German national titles in 1994-95, and 1997. In 1999, he added another national title with Club an der Alster Hamburg.

Bellenbaum later studied mathematics and became a business and management consultant. He married his team-mate Susanne Müller.
