Biography

Field hockey forward Theo Haag was a member of the first German team to win an Olympic hockey medal, when they beat Belgium 3-0 to win the bronze medal at Amsterdam in 1928. Captain of the team in Amsterdam, Haag was also Germany’s top scorer with seven goals. He won 22 international caps between 1925-33. At club level he played for SC Frankfurt 1880. He also played rugby and won two international caps. By profession, Haag was a merchant, and after World War II moved to France.
