Biography

The German field hockey team won the silver medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics after losing 8-1 to India in the final. Forward Carl Ruck scored one goal in his only appearance at the Berlin Games, in the 4-1 win over Afghanistan in the group stage. He played club hockey for SC 1880 Frankfurt. Between 1936-42 he won six international caps.
