Biography

Peter Trump was among the West German field hockey team winning the gold medal at their home Olympics 1972 in München. The team won the final 1-0 against Pakistan. Therefore the team members were awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award.

Domestically, Peter Trump played for TG Frankenthal, and helped them win the West German Championship in 1980 and 1983, and also the indoor title seven times in 1969, 1977, and 1980-84. In 1984 they team also won the European Cup of Champions. Trump later turned to coaching in Frankenthal and Speyer. He also owned a sports goods shop in Frankenthal.
