Biography

Chris Larson Mason played hockey (field), lacrosse, and basketball at Penn State University, and in 1974 the Penn State field hockey coach suggested she try out for the 1976 Olympic team. She made the team and stayed with the US national team through the 1984 Olympics. Larson Mason graduated from Penn State in 1978 and then became field hockey and lacrosse coach at Boston University. While living in Boston, she became close friends with Leslie Milne, also a multi-sport star in college, at Williams College, who had also made the US national field hockey team. Larson Mason and Milne began training together in Boston in the mornings, helping maintain their fitness. Larson Mason eventually became field hockey and lacrosse coach at Williams, a position she held for over 30 years. She is a member of the US Field Hockey Hall of Fame.
