Biography

Sabre fencer Dieter Schneider was a member of the West German teams participating in the 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics. The team finished an unfortunate fourth in 1984 and sixth in 1988. In 1980 and 1982, Schneider placed second at the national sabre championships.

Together with open water swimmer Thomas Lurz, Schneider founded the Thomas Lurz and Dieter Schneider Sports Foundation in 2012, with the intention of promoting research and projects in the field of disabled sports, and also the inclusion sports festival NoLimits!.
