Biography

Albino Garbari’s passion for horses, and eventing in particular, was more than a profession. Born in Istria, he arrived in Roma when he was very young, and since the 1960 Olympics became part of the Italian Federal Equestrian Centre, where he remained throughout his career.

Garbari was stable manager, chaperone for national teams at the Olympic Games, World, and European Championships, and later the technical designer of courses. His cross-country course was used at the World Equestrian Games in Roma 1998, and at the 2004 Athens Olympics. He received many awards in his career including Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2007.
