Biography

Colombian footballer Carlos Lugo spent most of his domestic career with Deportes Tolima. Lugo had two spells with the club during the 1960s and 1970s and scored 63 goals for the team. In addition to Tolima he also played for América de Cali, Cúcuta Deportivo, Deportes Quindío, and Once Caldas, playing a total of 280 matches and scoring 86 goals. Lugo was part of the Colombian squad that competed in the football tournament at the 1972 München Olympics. He played in all three of Colombia’s group games, losing to Poland and East Germany, and winning against Ghana.
