Biography

Silverio began playing in 1918 at Real Sociedad in San Sebastián, then was with Club Deportivo Oviedo from 1921-22, returning to Real Sociedad in 1922-24. With the San Sebastián team Silverio won two regional championships in the Gipuzkoa province of the Basque Country, playing 12 official matches and scoring two goals. He played his only international match at the 1920 Olympics against Italy. In this match, Spain’s goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora was sent off and no changes were allowed. Silverio had to replace him in as goalkeeper and prevented the Italians from marking a goal. Silverio suddenly died in 1935 of a heart attack.
