Biography

Libero Lothar Hause was on the East German football (soccer) squad at the 1980 Moskva Olympics that won the silver medal after losing the final against Czechoslovakia 1-0. Hause was not among the team playing the final. He earned nine international caps and scored one goal. With the Olympic team Hause played another 12 matches and scored three more goals.

In the GDR Oberliga Hause played with FC Vorwärts Frankfurt on Oder from 1973-93 in 346 matches and scored 39 goals. After re-unification he moved to Salzgitter in former West Germany and became a football (soccer) coach in lower leagues. He was considered untrustworthy by the Ministry of State Security (Ministerium für Staatssicherheit) and was not allowed to participate in matches in Western countries.
