Biography

Goalkeeper Bodo Rudwaleit was on the final East German football (soccer) squad at the 1980 Moskva Olympics that won the silver medal after losing the final against Czechoslovakia 1-0. In total, he earned 33 international caps and 5 more with the GDR Olympic team.

Domestically, Rudwaleit played with BFC Dynamo Berlin from 1976-89, winning the East German Championships consecutively from 1979-88, and also the East German Cup in 1988 and 1989. With Berlin, he played 339 Oberliga matches. After German re-unification, Rudwaleit played with Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt and Tennis Borussia Berlin in lower German leagues. He later worked as a football (soccer) coach at lower league clubs and founded a cab company.
