Biography

Defender Frank Uhlig was on the East German football (soccer) squad at the 1980 Moskva Olympics that won the silver medal after losing the final against Czechoslovakia 1-0, although he was not on the final squad. In total, he earned one international cap, and 21 more with the GDR Olympic team scoring two goals. Domestically Uhlig played with FC Karl-Marx-Stadt (nowadays Chemnitz) from 1975-85, playing 237 matches and scoring 30 goals. After re-unification, Uhlig became an energy consultant.
