Between 1923-28, he was selected for the national team five times, four times as a player for Kispest. At the 1924 Olympics Bir was the Hungarian reserve goalkeeper. Biri returned to Hungary in 1927 and played for several Hungarian teams: Hungária, Budai 33, Sabaria, Phoebus, and finally III. kerület. In 1933, he spent a year at Amiens in France, then moved to Portuguese Boavista (1934-37) for three years. In 1937 he finished his active career with the Swiss Young Boys team in order to start a successful career as a trainer.
