Biography

After two years with Serie C club A. C. Monza, goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli Moved to A. C. Milan in 1989, and between then and his retirement in 2012, played more than 400 games in Serie A. Antonioli also played for Cesena, Reggiana, Bologna, Roma and Sampdoria. He won three Italian League titles, in 1992 and 1993 with Milan, and 2001 with Roma. He won two Italian Super Cups with Milan (1992) and Roma (2001). In 1989 and 1990, Antonioli won the European Cup with Milan. He also won the European Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup with them in 1989, and in 1998 won the UEFA Intertoto Cup with Bologna. Antoniolo won 29 Italy under-21 caps and was a member of the victorious 1992 European Under-21 Championship-winning team. That same year he was first choice goalkeeper for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, where he played in all four matches. He never won a full international cap, but was an unused substitute at the 2000 European Championship in The Netherlands.
