Biography

Italian footballer Fabio Pecchia was a midfielder who played for 11 clubs throughout his career. He started at Avellino before making his Serie A début in the 1993/94 season with SSC Napoli. Pecchia played in the top flight for 14 seasons with Juventus, Sampdoria, Torino, Bologna, Como Calcio, A.C. Siena, and ending with Ascoli Calcio in 2006/07. In total, he scored 41 goals in 337 Serie A appearance. He won the League title with Juventus in 1997/98, and also won the 1997 Italian Super Cup.

Internationally, Pecchia never represented Italy at senior level but played for the under-21 team on 14 occasions between 1993-96 under coach Cesare Maldini, and was a member of the team that won the 1996 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship. He also competed for Italy at the 1996 Summer Olympics, making three appearances.

After ending his playing career, Pecchia became a coach at A.S. Gubbio, A.S. Latina, F.C. Hellas Verona and the Juventus Under-23 side. He was also an assistant coach to Rafael Benitez at Napoli, Real Madrid and Newcastle United.
