Biography

Piet Bouman switched clubs at least six times, which was quite unusual at the time. He started in the youth team of the club Quick in Den Haag, D.V.S. and Ajax, before he joined D.V.C. in Dordrecht on the senior level as a defender and midfielder (1910-14). He then played for HFC Haarlem (1914-16), UD Deventer (1916-18) and from 1918 until 1925 again for D.V.C.

Bouman played in 9 international matches between 1912 and 1914, making his début at the Stockholm Olympics. There, he played in the two matches against Austria and Denmark. After a 9-0 victory over Finland, the team won bronze. He won his final cap in 1914 in a friendly against Denmark. He worked as a civil servant for the municipalities of Zwolle, Deventer, and Leerdam.
